This wine was obtained from grapes selected in the region, which offer different and unique characteristics. A rich and intense blend of flavours, harmonised with ripe tropical fruit and a hint of vanilla on being finished from 6 months in French oak barrels. The perfect combination for those looking for authentic, silky flavours.

The history
Life is made of stories, and Vinhas de Nexe is born from a very particular one: that of the Lavadeira (Washerwoman). A strong-willed woman, in the early 1900s, she would work hard in the fields whilst still being considered a prestigious lavadeira. Every week, in her mule cart, she would collect clothes from the Jewish families in the city of Faro, which she would wash, dry and return as only she knew how. Recognising her efforts, dedication and wisdom, one of the families gave her a cash loan that allowed her to buy the property where she lived. Today, it is on these lands that Norberto Herdeiro grows beautiful vines, from which this white Vinhas de Nexe pays tribute to his great-great-grandmother, D. Bárbara Lavadeira.
